Based on recommendations I decided to get my Triumph serviced by Adrian in Topanga. I got my
Daytona back from Adrian earlier this week and everything he did was top notch. Great guy and
really good with followup calls. He fixed a fuel pump hose problem and helped sort out a few other
issues on my Trummy.
I drove out from Irvine, CA to see him (3 times actually) and I can honestly say it was definitely
worth the drive, a top notch mechanic with great rates. Also an interesting note, there a quite are
few bike shops around the venice area and I heard nothing but praise about Adrian from OTHER
SHOP OWNERS! If you need your bike serviced I would highly recommend him.

Finally tracked down my mechanic formerly of L.A. Triumph. This guy has parted ways with the
dealer and is now working independently from his own garage. Awesome service, fair prices, and
he cleans the bike up everytime I take it in.I mention this because there have been some previous
posts about folks looking for a good SoCal Mechanic. And I know from experience finding a
triumph certified mech. or dealer even in L.A. is a chore. This guy is not my cousin or my pal or
anything. I am just really pleased with the service I recieved. If you are need of the best Triumph
Tech on the Westside give him a call

SoCal riders, I've finally found the best Triumph mechanic in town, I've tried three dealerships
here in SoCal and all have left me very disappointed in their service/work. When it was time for
my 12,000 mile service (the big one) I took it to Adrian Packett, and was shocked with what I got
back - my bike was like it was brand new again!!! It felt so much better and he fixed every
problem it had, I suddenly loved my bike again!
In addition to the standard service, he:
Got rid of my cam-chain noise (the horrible rattle from 0 to 6.5k RPM)
Re-routed my fuel pump relays (which a dealership had installed wrong)
Realigned the steering head (which i didn't even know was out a little)
Detailed the bike to a level of cleanliness even I could never achieve
Installed my new Sprockets and Chain
He had all the parts needed in 3 days too!!
He knows his stuff so I recommend him to anybody in need of service in SoCal - avoid dealers if
you love your bike and try Adrian, He's totally official and a fully certified Triumph specialist with
all the tools and service papers- even going so far as to furnish me with the checklist of service
performed and stamping the Owner's Service Handbook for the work done so your records are in
order... Great bloke!

Hey Ya all,i just got my bike back from the service (+ tyre change and mods!) from a great
technician and its running better than its ever done, he does a lot of performance work and mods (
I got the undertail done while it was in there).
He’s fully certified, has worked on all models of the new generation truimphs since they came out
in 95 and was head triumph technician for 10 years at a local dealers
His rates are about the same as of all the other shops but his work and knowledge is second to
none, and the personal service is great, even the cup of tea and the friendly chat.
He's located in Topanga Canyon area and send him a email for an estimate before you go to the
dealers!

With out a doubt Adrian is the best!!! He is one hell of a mechanic in addition to being a great guy.
I have no problem with what he charges in that he is as honest as the day is long.
When i took my 675 to the dealership for its first service - they did such a bad job that i swore i
would never take it back (and i never have).
Adrian has come through for me time after time for my track days and is the only person i trust to
work on my bike besides myself

Hey Adrian,
Went riding this past weekend and wanted to give ya a heads up on how the bike ran. I guess as
you might say "She is bloody hell fast mate".......................What a blast to ride - I forgot how
awesome it was to ride in the dirt - and this bike is just sweet to ride. She goes like a bat out of
hell and you better be hanging on tight!!!!!!!!
Thanks for rebuilding the motor and all the setup

LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION: ADRIAN PACKETT
Adrian Packett was employed as a service technician at L.A. Cyclesports From April 1995, to Jan
2005,The dealership was originally only a Triumph dealership and Adrian specialised in the repair
and maintenance of modern Triumph motorcycles. He attended all the Triumph service schools
and was considered the Head Technician. Adrian did excellent work and had a loyal following
among Triumph owners in Los Angeles. Adrian also serviced and repaired Honda and Suzuki
motorcycles and attended all the Honda and Suzuki service schools
Adrian was a loyal, hard working employee as evidenced by his tenure of 10 years,he persevered as
the business grew and the service management and location changed many times over the 10
years. In a demanding and stressful position his demeanour with the customers was always cordial
and appropriate
Adrian left L.A. Cyclesports on excellent terms,he resigned to pursue new and more challenging
opportunities.
Sincerely
Larry Hart
Proprietor,L.A. Cyclesports
I knew when I bought my bike that it probably hadn’t had a service done in a while… Well, I
finally got it in to Adrian to have it checked out. He used to work at the local Triumph dealership
and has over a decade of experience working on the British bikes. Works out of his garage now
and he’s a great guy to deal with.
Anyway, he’s done a valve adjustment (my intake valves were so tight they weren’t closing all the
way), synced the throttle bodies, replaced a slipping clutch nut, replaced a bunch of hoses (one of
the lines to a fuel injector was kinked and not flowing properly), replaced the crankcase breather oil
seal and tube, etc. His price was more than fair. There were a few other things he recommended I
do, but they’re things I can take care of myself. Gave me the part numbers for those things, as well
as advice on how to take care of ‘em.
I hit the road at 7:30am Saturday to check out the results. Man, the difference is amazing. He said
it would ride 20x better. He was so right. The idle is all smoothed out, the power is right there, and
it sounds so much better. Smooth is the word.
Adrian is the freakin’ man. He works on any modern sportbikes. There as a Gixxer waiting in line
when I was there (he’s doing a custom showbike with it.Chromed everthing - tank, frame,
swingarm, wheels, etc). He’ll do everthing that you’d expect from the dealership and more since he’
s not under the pressure of the turnover a dealership expects.

To who it may concern
Adrian Packett was employed by Hamma Glamma productions from April 2005 to October
2006 on the making of a UK. Television show called All The Gear No Idea. The show involved
the Shipping of 14 old and decrepit motorcycles to Los Angeles along with the contestants.
All the bikes were to be filmed while receiving a complete transformation within a 3 month
period to meet UK TV deadlines.
Adrian was instrumental in the running of the workshop and responsible for all the mechanical
work on the bikes and also the sourcing of hard to find parts, without Adrians intimate
knowledge of the Californian motorcycle business and his many contacts the show would not
have made the deadlines, but it did and 14 episodes were broadcast prime time on Men and
Motors channel,Adrian himself became one of the main workshop characters in the show.
I would not hesitate in hiring Adrian again for any pressure situation.

Hello Adrian;
Many congratulations for the accolade of 'Bike of the Month' on the Triumph RAT forum for the
Thruxton'
Your bike is unique and massively impressive!
The combination of parts and the final product it's exceptional.
You have talent, no doubt about it!
Your write up about the mods performed it's also very well detailed and well explained.
Congrats for such a formidable bike.
Carlos Schmidt ,
TPUSA/Southbay Triumph .
Adrian,
Sincere congratulations, and extremely well done with the 'Super Scruxton Project'
It is refreshing to see exciting new ideas and concepts rolling in (pun intended!). Good, 'out-of-the-box'
thinking and execution.
Just a thought... it doesn't "look" British", it doesn't "look" Japanese, it doesn't "look" American. Sort
of a "Matrix", or otherwordly feel to it? Tough, Spartan, Utilitarian...
At any rate, nice to see something unique and well thought out.
Great work, keep on keepin' on, and hope you get ton's of enjoyment out of it.
Bob
I know a mechanic, Adrian Packett, in Topanga, who I use regularly for work on my S3 and he's awesome. He
has been working on Triumph's for about 15 years and really knows his stuff. He used to work at a dealer but
currently is doing work on appointment basis only. Check him out. He is affordable, quick, honest and knows
Triumphs, unlike the local dealers. I've used him for service work, customization and crash repair. I highly
recommend Adrian over your other local options -which seem to be the dealers.
